Fritz Gross (1895 - 1969)

Austrian artist and architect. He was born in 1895 in Vienna and died in 1969 in London. He studied in Vienna and Paris and is best known as an architect who developed the design of the "open plan", which was first seen in 1929. He and his family moved to London in 1938. During the war he taught art and architecture at Bedford School and Cambridge, then returned to architecture in London.
