Jaroslav Anýž (1902 - 1985)

He was born on October 5, 1902 as the first-born son into the family of a well-known businessman in the field of production of metal art objects and lighting fixtures by Franta Anýž and his wife Pavlína. In 1930, Jaroslav Anýž joined his father's plant as a technical officer and devoted himself to the design and construction of lighting fixtures. In collaboration with Miroslav Prokop, he founded the production of simple practical lighting fixtures that suited the tastes of this time. At this time, a swivel joint for table lamps was created, for which patent No. 47046 was granted in 1934. Its most technically significant project is the construction of a stateless operating lamp for hospitals. It allowed doctors to lean over the operating field without overshadowing them.
